Hiking Siroua volcano

photo One hundred kilometers from Marrakech is Sidoura - an ancient volcano situated between the High Altas Mountains and the Anti Atlas Mountains. The volcanic peak offers dramatic scenery and views of the tremendous gorges. On a clear day, the view of the summit passes the mountain ranges out to the dunes of the Sahara desert. This tour will take you through the beautiful pastures and isolated villages of the Berbers. The lands are irrigated by seasonal torrents of rain for crops of barley, wheat, almond, and the saffron crocus.

Day 1: Marrakech/Ouarzazate » Tamlakoute » Ait Tigga (1900 m)

Leave in the morning and cross several beautiful Berber villages through the pass of Tichka, the highest road/pass through Morocco. Follow along and enjoy the amazing views of the High Atlas mountains. The road pauses in the village of Anzali, from which we take a 12 KM track to the beginning of the Siroua valley. Lunch will be prepared by our cook in Tamlakoute. From here, we collect our mules and equipment and start the hiking tour to Ait Tigga.
