Desert Tour that connects two grand cities. This tour can go in either direction. Let us take you from Fes to Marrakech (or other way around) to the apricot colored sand dunes of Erg Chebbi by Merzouga, tall gorges, date palm oasis and of course Atlas Mountains.

Option A 3 Days/2 Nights

photo Pick up from your Hotel in Marrakech in the morning and transfer to the verdant oasis of Dades Gorge via the High Atlas Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass and the World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco's most spectacular ksour (dwellings) that once guarded the lucrative caravan route through the Atlas mountains. Continue through Ouarzazate and Kelaa Mgouna (Rose Valley) and leave the main route at Boumalne Dades. Drive along this oasis valley gorge of the River Dades past ruined hilltop Kasbahs, valley-floor gardens and the strange rock formations of the Tamnalt Hills. Dinner, Hotel

Day 2: Dades Valley » Todra Gorge >>Merzouga

Transfer from Dades Gorge to Merzouga via the Todra Gorge (the highest oasis valley gorge in Morocco). Arrive in the desert where your guide and camels will be waiting to carry you across the sandy dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. Camel trek as the sun set across a desert landscape, for approximately 1 hrs to reach your desert camp and home for the night: a traditional nomad tent. At your desert shelter, your camels are hobbled and mint tea is served. A simple meal of tagine is freshly prepared for you by your guide. Dinner ,overnight in a Berber tent

Day 3: Erg Chebbi >>Merzouga » Midelt >>Fes

Rise early to greet the new day and, after mint tea and breakfast, return across the desert on your camels to shower and depart. Transfer direct from Merzouga to Fes along the Ziz Valley Gorge and via Azrou and the cedar forests.

Option B 4Day/3Nights

Day 1: Marrakech > AitBenHaddou>Ouarzazate

Pick up in the morning from your hotel/riad in Marrakech and depart towards Ouarzazate via the Tickha Pass (2260m) the highest road pass in Morocco. The panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and magnificent landscapes, scenery peppered by small Berber villages typical of the region. Visit of Kasbah Telouet - an extraordinary sight of the Atlas, a palatial residence and headquarters of the powerful Glaoui tribe. Visit AiBen Haddou - UNESCO protected sight that inspired many movie makers. Then continue onto Ouarzazate. Overnight in Ouarzazate, dinner

Day 2: Ouarzazate > Rose Valley > Dades Gorge

In the morning visit the movie studios in Ouarzazate and another impressive Kasbah Taorirt. Continue your journey off road to the palm tree oasis of Finnt. After visit of Finnt follow the road of Thousand Kasbah, passing the Skoura oasis onto Rose Valley. Famous for the production of Moroccan roses, a wide array of rose products available. Then pass the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills and arrive to Dades Gorge, carved for centuries by the Dades River. The natural scenery of red and mauve rock towers above the road. Day 3: Dades Gorge > Todra Gorge > Merzouga > Erg Chebbi

drums in sahara desertDepart Dades Gorge and transfer to equally impressive gorge of Todra - the highest oasis in Morocco. Then head towards Merzouga, visiting the ancient city of Rissani. Arrive to Merzouga a doorway into the desert where your guide and camels will be waiting for you to carry you across the sandy dunes of the Moroccan desert. Camel trek as the sun sets across the desert landscape, for about 2 hours to reach you desert camp for the night. Your guide will prepare for you refreshing mint tea and dinner. Day 4: Erg Chebbi > Merzouga > Midelt > Fes

Rise early to greet you new day, beautiful sun rise over the sand dunes. After breakfast in the desert return to Merzouga to shower and depart. Travel onto Efroud where you will see the sudden change in the scenery. The desert, dry land will change into the green valley of Ziz, date palms and green gorges. Then continue onto the Middle Atlas Mountains passing Ifrane and Azrou. A forested cedar hillsides where colony of monkeys will keep you amused .

 

Option C 5 Days / 4 nights

ait benhadouDay 1 Marrakech - AitBenHaddou - Ouarzazate

Pick up from your hotel/riad at 9:00am and travel towards the High Atlas Mountains. Cross the mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco Tizi n Tichka (2270m) offering one kind of scenery of mountains, valleys and Berber villages. Visit the extraordinary sight of the Atlas Mountains Kasbah Telouet. The crumbling Kasbah belonged to the powerful Glaoui tribe remembered as the "vulture" sultan and his son who lived there until the 1950's. Once a beautiful Kasbah, but still worth the visit today as the history and drama will unfold itself. Then you have the choice to take the main road or travel off road via the Ounila Valley. Route that offers unparalleled views of green valleys, river and remarkable colored slopes and hillsides. On your tour of Morocco visit the amazing UNESCO protected 16th century sight of Kasbah AitBenHaddou. Take a walk or hire a donkey to carry you across the river to this Kasbah. Stroll the winding streets to the Kasbah to the upper level for awe inspiring views. Overnight in Ouarzazate or by AitBenHaddou in one of the local Berber family

Day 2 Ouarzazate - Skoura Oasis - Rose Valley - Dades Gorge

In the morning visit the city of Ouarzazate, its famous Kasbah Taourirt, residence of the Pasha of Marrakech. Then take a route of the Thousand Kasbahs towards the Skoura Oasis. Take a lovely off road in the oasis passing homes of the local people. Visit the Kasbah Amridil featured in many Moroccan brochures. Your Morocco Tour takes to then to the Rose Valley (Kella Mgouna) known for production of Moroccan roses and its variety of beauty products. Your journey continues passing the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills, a bizarre rock creation resembling monkey feet. End your day at Dades Gorge, deep gorge of red and mauve rock. Day 3 Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi

Depart Dades Gorge to visit another deep oasis in Morocco the Todra Gorge. It walls are 300 m tall and at their most narrow part, they are mere 20 meters apart. Spend some time appreciating this natural wonder before resuming your trip towards the Sahara Desert. Approaching Merzouga you will see the first sand dunes of the desert. There your camels will be waiting for your to carry you across the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Travel on the back of your camels, or walk during a beautiful sunset. Spend the night in the Nomad tent in the camp in the desert.

Day 4 Erg Chebbi - Merzouga - Rissani - Erfourd

Rise early in the morning to greet the new day and watch the sunrise eliminating the desert, after mint tea and breakfast, return to Merzouga on the saddle of your camels to shower and depart. Today enjoy the desert scenery. Visit the seasonal lake of Tamezquidate. It has water generally from November to April, May. It is very beautiful and unique to see the contrast between the water and the sand dunes of Sahara Desert. It is home to several bird species. Visit the ancient city of Rissani, where many old Arab dynasties came from. We see man wearing the indigo blue robes distinctive of Saharan people. We enjoy the visit to the old Kasbah, where people still live today and possible visit to the market. Then your Morocco adventure continues towards Erfroud, known for its date palm trees. You see fences guarding the palms agains the desert. Erfourd host a yearly date palm festival. Overnight in Erfourd

Day 5 Erfroud - Midelt - Azrou - Fes monkey

This morning depart Erfourd and travel along the scenic Ziz Valley passing many palm groves and green
valleys. You will encounter many local Nomads herding their animals, living in the tents in the fields. View the city of Azrou, famous for woodwork and gorgeous red carpets. Near Azrou visit the cedar forests where colonies of Barbary Apes will keep you amused. Then your journey will take you to the city of Ifrane, looking as the Swiss village and popular ski resort. Late afternoon arrival to Fes, drop off at your riad.
